Get to know Sculptra! A Gradual, Lasting Cosmetic Option.

The cosmetic world is ever changing, advancing and developing new treatments to combat the signs of aging. As we keep with our promise to bring our clients the most up to date options, we are happy to introduce Sculptra to our list of cosmetic services.

So what is Sculptra? In contrast to other wrinkle fillers, Sculptra works gradually with your body to replace collagen lost from the aging process. As a result, volume is restored and wrinkles and folds are smoothed creating a more youthful, natural, subtle look that lasts greater than 2.5 years.

What is collagen?

Collagen is a key structural component under the skin that provides volume and gives shape to the face, keeping skin appearing youthful. Over time, our bodies make less collagen, resulting in less elasticity and volume. This, along with environmental factors like sun exposure, lead to the appearance of wrinkles, lines and folds. Anti-aging creams containing collagen cannot get below the surface of the skin to replace lost collagen like Scupltra can.

Unlike fillers, Scupltra works deep under the sin to naturally stimulate the body to produce its own collagen—an underlying cause of facial aging. As collagen is replaced, Scupltra gradually increases or restores volume to correct wrinkles and folds. Over 2-3 treatments, a youthful appearance emerges, so it is subtle and natural-looking. Plus, results can last over 2.5 years.

Scupltra can be put in temple hollows, cheek hollows and depressions, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and chin/jaw line.

Scupltra takes 2-3 treatments with 6-8 weeks in between treatments

How is Scuptra different from Fillers

Fillers are gel substances, such a hyaluronic acid that work by adding volume to smooth out wrinkles, lines and folds, with immediate results. They do not stimulate the body to replace collagen. Scupltra is biodegradable and biocompatible, and works deep under the skin to gradually replace lost collagen. Results emerge over a few weeks, for a more subtle, natural and youthful appearance that can last over 2.5 years.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments you need depends on various factors, including the surface area to be treated. At your initial consultation, the nurse practitioner will discuss with your how many follow up treatments may be required.

How long does Scuptra last?

Scupltra treatment results differ from person to person but typically last for longer than 2 years. Touch-up treatments may be required to maintain the desired effect.
